Havering Council Notice of Street Tree Removal Severn Drive, Upminster
Overview
Havering Council is consulting on the removal of one tree:
| Location | Reference Number | Reason for removal |
|---|---|---|

64 Severn Drive, Upminster RM14 1QF |
TR000023607 |
Cherry tree. Tree removal due to poor condition and to allow installation of vehicle crossover. |
We will only remove trees that are dead, dying or diseased. Whilst this tree does not currently present an immediate danger, it has been identified as the cause of ongoing damage to the highway and shows significant decay at its base. It also contains a large section of dysfunctional wood and visible cracks, which reduce its structural strength and affect the integrity of one of its main branch unions.
These defects have significantly reduced the tree's expected lifespan and are likely to increase the level of risk as the tree continues to decline. For these reasons, the removal of the tree is considered to be the most appropriate management option. Its removal will also allow the proposed vehicle crossover to be installed.
