The Mawney Foundation School – Proposed School Travel Measures

Closed 29 Sep 2023

Opened 8 Sep 2023

Overview

We want to hear your views on proposals to install a new crossing, relocate a bus stop and improve pedestrian guard rails in Mawney Road, Romford.

The aim is to increase safety for pupils and staff of Mawney Foundation School and residents.

The crossing will help make it safer to get across a busy road and help reduce the risk of accidents. Guardrails will provide an additional safety measure, especially during school drop-off and pick-up hours when both footfall and traffic are greater.

Re-locating the bus stop will help traffic flow and enhance road safety. The new location will also help towards reducing congestion, making it safer for students to get on and off buses, causing less disruption to vehicle traffic.

A link to the plans showing the location of the proposed crossings can be found below.

Why your views matter

All responses received will be carefully analysed and will influence the final scheme design. We will make changes based upon suggestions and comments where feasible, and if changes are not possible, we will explain why.  Elements of the scheme that are not well supported by residents may be reconsidered if possible.
