Oasis Academy Pinewood – Proposed School Travel Measures
Overview
We want to hear your views on proposals to install a Copenhagen-style crossing and remove footway parking in Carter Drive, Romford.
The aim is to help increase the safety of the students and staff of Oasis Academy Pinewood, residents and vulnerable road users of Carter Drive.
The Copenhagen-style crossing includes a raised platform that provides a clear separation between pedestrians and vehicles, making crossing the road safer. In addition, parking on the footway will not be possible, leaving more space for pedestrians, including those in wheelchairs, mobility buggies or pushing prams.
A link to the plans showing the location of the proposed crossing can be found below.
Why your views matter
All the responses received will be carefully analysed and will influence the final scheme design. We will make changes based upon suggestions and comments where feasible, and if changes are not possible, we will explain why. Elements of the scheme that are not well supported by residents may be reconsidered if possible.
