Market Place Modular Home Survey

In 2023, 157 families lived in hotels. That equates to 471 children without access to cooking facilities. In 2025, this number has reduced to 35 families, after much work by the Housing team to help them.

We hold 9,000 council properties in our stock, but on average only 450 become empty each year for another household to move in. We have a big shortage of 4-bed properties, as well as 2-bed and 3-bed properties. 

To help solve our housing emergency we are looking at temporary modular home like the one in the Romford town square as part of the solution to the homelessness in Havering.
