Havering's Housing Resident Engagement Strategy 2025-28

Overview

We are developing a new Housing Tenant Engagement Strategy for 2025–2028, and we want to hear from you. Recent national changes, including the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023 and Awaab’s Law, place a stronger emphasis on tenant voices, safety, and accountability within social housing.

Our aim in Havering is to create a stronger, more inclusive approach to resident engagement - one that ensures every tenant has the opportunity to be heard, involved and informed.

Your feedback will help us:

  • Shape better ways of involving tenants, making it easier and more accessible for everyone to take part.
  • Reach a wider range of residents, including those who don’t usually engage, so every voice counts.
  • Develop clearer and more transparent communication, so tenants always know what’s happening and how decisions are made.
  • Build more meaningful two‑way conversations, ensuring residents influence how we design engagement, events, panels and forums.
  • Create engagement opportunities that reflect your needs, preferences, and the way you want to be contacted or involved.

Why your views matter

We want to understand what helps you get involved, what gets in the way, and how we can make engagement easier, more welcoming and more worthwhile for you.

You can find the draft strategy in the 'related' section below.

Your views will directly shape the final strategy and our approach for the next three years.
