We asked

Between 23 October and 6 December 2024, we ran a special version of our Active Travel Consultation just for children and young people (under 18, and up to 25 with special educational needs). We wanted to hear your thoughts on how we can make walking, cycling, and wheeling better in Havering.

Our plan is to make Havering healthier, safer, and more fun to get around over the next 15 years. Active travel helps clean the air, reduce traffic, improve health, and make our streets more welcoming.

Overview

Havering’s got a game-changing plan to transform how we get around town.

Imagine less traffic, cleaner air, and a greener environment that we want to spend time in – all by getting us to walk, bike, wheel or skate more.

It's not just talk; Havering Council have got a whole long list of exciting plans they want to do, like making a network of paths just for active travel, setting up spots where you can hop on a bike or scooter, and giving us the lowdown on the best ways to get around.

They're also looking at the big picture, figuring out how to manage traffic better, getting the data to focus on making smart choices, and helping everyone enjoy an improved community atmosphere.

And the best part?

You get to give them your thoughts and ideas too. They're all ears, wanting to know what you think so they can make sure this plan really benefits everyone in Havering. So, let's get moving and shake things up for the better!
