Overview

Havering Council is consulting on a proposal to amalgamate Parklands Infant School and Parklands Junior School. This will result in a single primary school being established.

The consultation started on Monday 30 November 2020 and will  now close on Monday 1 February 2021.

Why your views matter

The local authority wants to ensure that any proposed changes are made in accordance as set out in the requirements and processes for amalgamating and making changes to maintained schools. And where there is a strong case for doing so, decisions can be implemented quickly and effectively without any negative impact on other schools in the area .

What happens next

All responses will be considered after the consultation ends.

If the Council then decides to proceed to the statutory stage of the process, it will publish a statutory notice and other information followed by a four week ‘representation period’ during which there will be a final chance to express views before a final decision is taken on whether or not to implement the proposal.
