Havering Ancient and Veteran Tree Map Feedback Survey

Closes 31 Dec 2027

Opened 24 Jan 2025

Overview

Please tell us your thoughts on our Ancient and Veteran Tree survey map.

Havering Council has received UKSPF funding from the UK Government and the Mayor of London to carry out an Ancient and Veteran Tree survey across the borough.

This is a critical time for ancient and veteran trees as well as the habitats they support and the landscapes in which they can survive and flourish. Their protection is crucial, not least because these living monuments represent a globally important resource for biodiversity, carbon capture, soil conservation, cultural connection, and mental and physical health. Britain is thought to have the greatest number of ancient trees in northern Europe.

In our 'related' section further below, you'll find an interactive map which will help you pinpoint the locations and species information for ancient and veteran trees on council-managed parks and grassed areas, private golf courses, a graveyard, sports grounds, nature reserves, streets, housing sites and private homes/farms across Havering.

The 'related' section below also has a link to the Ancient Tree Forum website for further information on these old and special trees.

This survey should take you no longer than five minutes to complete.
